Matt's C10 timber bed replacement

Matty from NSW brought in his awesome patina'd C10 longbed for a new timber bed, replacing his 50 year old factory timber, (or what was left of it) and new stainless bed strips and hardware. We sell the timber bed as a DIY kit, but Matt entrusted us to do the swap for him. We will be using an Australian Spotted Gum Variety which is feature Grade A and using our natural oil for protection and finish. Here is what the original timber looked like prior to our work..
We remove the bed from the vehicle with our purpose built equipment as it allows us to remove the old timber easier and faster. The new Spotted Gum Hardwood gets to us thicknessed, cut to the correct width and faced, we developed our own tooling that cuts the profile for the bed strips before getting a natural oil finish.
Back on the chassis now, the new timber bed kit has turned it from a relic to a statement piece. We use all new correct stainless fasteners with this kit which complements the new stainless bed strips.
