FROM TIRED TO TIMELESS
Joel commissioned us to replace the timber bed in his shorty 61 C10. The poor girl was wearing some old rotten plywood with no bed strips.
As with all our timber bed replacements, we find it easier and less time consuming to just remove the bed on a hoist and work from underneath. So off came the bed and the factory bed bracing, luckily it wasn't held on by much, just a few rusty bolts which needed to be cut.
With all the old stuff out, we start laying in our new Australian Blackbutt, which we already have cut to factory widths, thickness and lengths and the correct profile routed into the edges, so the new stainless bed strips slot right in and sit nice and flush with the timber. Joel opted for an untreated appearance, no oils or stains, just how nature intended. Blackbutt has a very distinguished appearance once aged, its age lines darken exposing the grain even further, so we cant wait to see it after a few seasons!
