"BIG BLOCK SQUAREBODY"

Matt's 84' C10 454ci Squarebody

This Squarebody C10 is owned by our very own draftsman, Matt.
This truck sat for many years after a backfire through the supercharger wreaked havoc on the top-end of the 454. We were happy to lend a hand and get this beast of a truck back on the road!
Matt had the 454 mostly disassembled, so we removed the engine and trans to get started on the tired and messy engine bay. The firewall and inner fenders were smoothed off with patches welded in, the radiator support, brackets and hinges all sent off to powdercoating. The entire bay got bodyworked before being painted body-colour.

While the engine bay was being treated, the 454 was sent to our engine guru, Steve. Matt opted to leave the supercharger off this build, so steve installed a new mild hydraulic cam, which worked great with the new dual-plane and Holley 750 double-pumper. Billet surpentine belt setup and all polished accessories made this engine really pop in the orange bay.

Before..

After..

The interior was then completely removed, we painted inside the cab in 30% satin black before a complete new interior was installed, nothing was re-used, from carpet to door panels, seats, dash, instruments, headliner, plastic trims and even correct fasteners were used to freshen the look inside this truck!

All new chrome grille, headlight surrounds, lights, side markers, and chrome trims were installed, updating that dark look it had before. New bonnet sourced (as the old one had a big square hole for the blower) and painted.

We then tackled the ride height of the truck, Matt wanted a static drop of around 3 inches, so we ordered up drop spindles, lowered springs, a c-notch for the back and a diff-flip finished it off.

We're stoked to have been able to help Matt get his C10 back on the road.
